ELIZABETH COX

Cox has published four novels: Familiar Ground, The Ragged Way People Fall Out of Love, Night Talk (which won the Lillian Smith Award given by the Southern Regional Council), and The Slow Moon.  Her fifth novel, A Question of Mercy, is forthcoming in fall 2016.  She has published a collection of short stories, Bargains in the Real World.  One story “Third of July” was chosen for the 1994 O. Henry Collection.  She has also published a book of poems, I Have Told You and Told You. Her poems have been published in The Atlantic Monthly, The Southern Review, and others. In 2011, she was awarded the Robert Penn Warren Award from the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
