Tayari Jones, an Atlanta native, is the author of three novels including Leaving Atlanta and Silver Sparrow. An Associate Professor at Rutgers-Newark University, she has also led workshops in Portugal, Ghana, Uganda, and Brazil. She is a graduate of Spelman College, The University of Iowa, and Arizona State University and has received support from many organizations including The Hurston/Wright Foundation, The Radcliffe Institute For Advanced Study, The United States Artists Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
