MAURICE MANNING

Maurice Manning is the author of five collections of poetry, the latest being The Gone and Going Away. His book The Common Man was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He has been praised for his ability to transcribe the soul of a place, such as his native Kentucky, into poetry. A winner of the Yale Younger Poets Prize and a Guggenheim fellowship, he teaches at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
